A Little About Me

I’m a fourth-year architecture student with a passion for creativity, problem-solving, and thoughtful design. I just turned 20 and am originally from Baton Rouge, LA. Growing up, I developed a love for outdoor activities, spending summers in North Carolina exploring the Blue Ridge Mountains. Whether mountain biking, hiking, or climbing, I’ve always felt at home in nature. My childhood was filled with sports—whether competitive soccer or backyard wiffleball, I loved to play. When I wasn’t outdoors, I was often building with Legos, an early sign of my fascination with design and construction.

My life has alwayse been busy but time management has been a crucial skill throughout my life. Balancing academics, extracurriculars, and personal projects has taught me to work efficiently and collaborate effectively. Architecture requires long hours and dedication, but I’m committed to putting in the effort it takes to meet deadlines and produce meaningful results. As I continue to grow personally and professionally, I am eager to refine my skills and explore new design ideas. This summer, I’m looking for an opportunity to challenge myself further, expand my knowledge, and contribute to a dynamic team. I am confident that my diverse experiences, hard work, and passion for architecture will make me a valuable asset.

My path to architecture has been shaped by a wide range of experiences. I had somewhat of a nonlinear education path, attending public school for elementary, homeschooling during middle school, and private school for high school. I stayed busy in high school as a three-year captain of the soccer team, co-captain of the football team, a student council member, and editor of the yearbook. Photography became a major creative outlet for me after I got my first camera in 8th grade, and it continues to inspire how I see and interpret the world around me.

The act of creation, whether through physical structures or other outlets like playing the piano or sketching, has always brought me a sense of peace. Architecture offers the same satisfaction as piecing together a complex puzzle—each project is a unique challenge, a chance to solve problems and innovatively meet the client’s needs. Growing up with a diverse schedule also taught me the importance of time management. Balancing sports, school, and extracurriculars honed my ability to work efficiently and prioritize. I understand the value of hard work and am committed to putting in the time needed to succeed, even if it means sacrificing a few nights. I strive to maximize both my own time and the time of those I collaborate with.

These experiences shaped my perspective on design. I’ve learned that in order to create architecture that truly reflects the client's needs you have to in a sense become the client. A successful design doesn’t just fulfill a function; it harmonizes the client’s vision with practical considerations. I believe that understanding and addressing both aspects is what makes a building truly impactful. it is not form or function first, it is the union of form and function that creates timeless and functional design.
